Shipping · Owners, managers and operators

Keep every ship compliant, connected and under your control.

Regulators now treat cyber risk like any other safety risk on board. Nesicon Insight shows you what is happening on each vessel's networks, proves it to auditors, and stops the incidents that cost fleets millions.

What is at stake

A cyber incident at sea is a safety, cargo and reputation event.

The biggest names in shipping have already learned this the hard way. The rules that followed now apply to every owner.

Inside the ship · The bridge

Navigation runs on software now.

Electronic charts, radar, GPS and AIS are computers on a network. They take updates by USB and satellite and share wires with the crew Wi-Fi. A corrupted chart update or a spoofed position is a safety event, which is why the IMO moved cyber into the Safety Management System.

Why it matters: Port State Control can detain a ship whose safety system ignores cyber risk.

Compliance

The rules a shipping company must meet, in plain language.

Each one asks the same three things: know what is on your ships, watch it, and show the evidence. Nesicon Insight is built to answer all three.

Deeper · Engine control room

The engines listen to a network too.

Propulsion, power, ballast and cargo systems are run by controllers that were never designed to meet the internet. Vendors reach them remotely for support. One wrong connection and the ship can lose control of what keeps it moving.

Why it matters: IACS E26 now requires new ships to separate, monitor and log these systems. Nesicon watches the traffic between them without touching them.

Deepest · The server room

This is where Nesicon sits.

A small appliance plugs into a mirror port on the ship's core switch. It sees every conversation between bridge, engine, cargo, crew and the satellite link, reads the industrial protocols, and spots what should not be there: a new device on the bridge network, a vendor session at 3 a.m., passport scans leaving the ship.

Why it matters: Nothing is installed on the ship's own systems. Findings travel over the satellite link to the fleet console ashore.

Protection on board and ashore

What Nesicon Insight does for your fleet.

One passive sensor per ship and one in the office. Nothing to install on the bridge systems. Everything reported in one fleet view.

How it fits on a vessel

Designed for ships: offline-tolerant, satellite-friendly, invisible to the crew.

1

A sensor listens, it does not interfere

A small appliance connects to a mirror port on the ship's network switch. It sees the traffic between bridge, engine, cargo and crew systems without touching any of them.

2

Findings travel light

Only compact findings and evidence are sent over the satellite link to your fleet console ashore. Raw traffic stays on board.

3

Optional endpoint agent

For crew laptops and office PCs, a lightweight agent adds vulnerability scanning, hardening checks and ransomware early warning.

4

Reports your auditors recognise

Evidence is mapped to the IMO, IACS, NIS2 and class requirements so a survey or audit becomes a download, not a project.

Honest boundaries

The passive sensor reads unencrypted and binary ship protocols. Encrypted traffic is seen by destination and volume, not content, unless you enable the optional proxy mode.

Nesicon Insight supports compliance; it is not a certificate. Your flag, class society and auditors remain the authority.
